Agent guardrails, built in

Read-only mode

PENSUM_MCP_MODE=read-only blocks every write tool with a clean error. Reads still work. Perfect for sessions that should never accidentally have side effects.

.pensumignore

A gitignore-style deny-list at the vault root. Defaults already block secrets, git internals, and Obsidian workspace state. Add whatever else should stay off-limits to agents.

Per-write audit log

Every write tool the server runs appends a JSON line to .pensum/mcp-audit.jsonl. Tail it from a terminal or call system.audit from inside the agent session.

Agent Captures review queue

Tasks captured by agents default to agent-suggested-pending provenance. They land in a separate review view, not your active task list, until you accept them.
